About Us
We are located in the North of the Isle of Skye, on the Trotternish Peninsula, approximately 8 miles from Portree, on the main route to the Ferry at Uig.
Kingsburgh is a crofting township. Our family have lived on this croft for many years and we are the 6th generation of our family to live at 12 Kingsburgh. We are a small working croft where you will see our Hebridean black sheep and hens.
Allt na Criche overlooks Loch Snizort, and has a great view of the Cuillin Hills. Across the loch, you can see Aird Bernisdale and Treaslane.
Kingsburgh is where Flora MacDonald lived after helping Bonnie Prince Charlie escape to France following his defeat at the Battle of Culloden.
The name Allt na Criche is Scottish Gaelic, meaning “Burn at the Boundary”.
